概要

田んぼに浮かぶホテル「スイデンテラス」は、山形/庄内の街づくり会社「ヤマガタデザイン」が企画・開発・運営しており、隣接する子ども施設「キッズドームソライ」とともに、地域の社会課題を解決するための事業としてデザインされました。設計は2014年にプリツカー建築賞を受賞した坂 茂氏によるものです。美しい水田風景に、建築を調和させるように優しく挿入した、というこのホテルは、稲の成長と共に四季折々表情を変えながら、年月を経るごとに魅力を増していくことでしょう。弊社社員一同、これからも庄内地域のファンをつくり、増やし、末長く愛される滞在拠点となるよう努力してまいります。


Summary
Suiden Terrasse is a hotel that appears to be floating in the middle of the surrounding rice fields. Along with Kids Dome Sorai, this hotel was planned, built, and is operated by the local company Yamagata Design which greatly supports the local area. The designer is Shigeru Ban, who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 2014. In the beautiful paddy fields, the hotel grows and ages like the rice growing throughout the year. Yamagata Design aims to make many fans of the Shonai area.
