概要
株式会社ニキシモと株式会社タカラレーベンが共同で手掛ける「ボタニカルガーデン アートビオトーププロジェクト」の象徴として計画された「水庭」は、この土地が持っていた森林―水田―牧草地という記憶が重ね合わされることによって誕生したボタニカルガーデンです。318本の木々と、その間にモザイクのように点在する160個の池によって、人の叡智と自然の叡智とが交わる新しい世界観が表現されています。設計を手掛けたのは建築家・石上純也氏。「水庭」はカルティエ現代美術財団（パリ）の「石上純也 自由な建築」展（2018年）で紹介され、世界的に大きな注目を集めたほか、石上氏の芸術選奨文部科学大臣新人賞（2019年）の受賞理由ともなりました。
Summary
The Art Biotop Water Garden is the symbol of the “Botanical garden Art Biotop project” collaboration of Nikishimo Co.,Ltd and Takara Leben CO.,LTD. It was born from the memories of the forest, paddy field, and grasslands of this area. There are 318 trees with 160 ponds between them to create a world where the wisdom of humans and nature intersect. The Water Garden has attracted attentions from around the world since it was introduced as part of an exhibition in 2018 called Junya Ishigami, Freeing Architecture at the Cartier Contemporary Art Foundation in Paris. In 2019, Junya Ishigami also won a national art award presented by the Ministry of Education and Science.

美しい庭だ。人工的につくったものと聞いたが、完璧に自然と調和している。ここへ行ってゆっくり癒されたい。心穏やかに過ごせそう。日本の風土だからできるのでしょうか？海外でもこんな水庭を体感できたら、人気のスポットになりそう。
